What does it mean to be free?
To know that you may leave home, never to return? To say goodbye to a loved one everyday, knowing this may be the last time you see them? To not have access to information or the ability to go where you please, when you please? What happens to the dreams, the hopes, the aspirations of millions of people that try to live their everyday lives in the face of an unrelenting, brutal and oppressive reality that was never of their choosing?
Mat Ro Bachhe is based on the poem “philistini bacche ke liye Lori” by Faiz Ahmad Faiz.
